As the economy quickly grows, the demand for a highly specialized management staff is increasing. To meet this demand, the Department of Business Administration provides management courses in Human Resources, Production & Operations, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Information Systems & Technology, and International Business. In further developing the business leaders of tomorrow, the Department also requires students to learn both English and Chinese. The following is the course guideline and descriptions

Subject Overview

Ethics in Work Place
This course teaches work ethics, work manners, and management ethics that are required in practical business on a basis of case studies.
Principles of Business Administration
This course cultivates overall view of business administration, as well as an understanding of specific study in connection with the content in the following courses.
Principles of Economics
This course emphasizes
  • 1. understanding of basic economic principles
  • 2. how they are related to business administration
  • 3. cultivating the ability to understand current world economic situations
  • 4. focusing on the relationship between Korea, America and China.
Organizational Behavior
This course focuses on the study of members' behavior in an organization. Generally the three necessary functions for management are professional functions, personal relationship functions, and integrated concept functions. While Professional functions can be learned through various studies in computers, accounting, marketing, etc., personal relationship functions and integrated concept functions are exclusively dealt within the organizational behavior. Their importance, therefore, is greatly emphasized in this course.
Principles of Accounting IㆍII
These courses

  • 2. teach how to prepare and analyze financial statements
  • 3. introduce more advanced topics of cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Business Analysis.
Business Computing
This course cultivates the capability of utilizing software applications and computer systems in today's dynamic business environment.
Elementary Chinese Conversation I
These courses provide the foundations of listening and speaking Chinese, through the development of vocabulary, expressions, and rules of grammar.
Marketing
This course teaches how to satisfy consumers' and organizations' needs by creating products, services, and ideas suitable for the marketplace, and gowth determine the best pricing and distribution strategies.
Management Information Systems
This course teaches how to apply information in management that requires extensive computing proficiency emphasizing the importance of messages, ideas, products, and services and the dissemination of that information through non-personal media.
International Trade Practice
This course helps to identify and understand the actyal art of trading, as it plays an important role in today's growing economy. The of the course will be on the current trade trends between Korea and its two biggest trade partners, the U.S. and China.
Practice of Human Relations
This course emphasizes the importance of personal interactions with others in the business arena. Focus will be on conversations, manners, counseling, negotiations and presentation skills, as they relate to business and management.
Financial Management
This course provides the underlying concepts of financial management, including
  • 1. contents, needs, and functions of financial management
  • 2. financial planning, working capital management, capital budgeting, investment, decisions, capital structure, and long term capital financing.
Personnel Management
This course recognizes the importance of personnel management in business by
  • 1. focusing on the value of human resources in modern organizations
  • 2. emphasizing the issues of how to effectively manage those resources with a behavioral science perspective
  • 3. developing traits and characteristics necessary to manage global organizations.
Financial Accounting
This course deals with various theories for internal accounting practices to best provide the most relevant information to company stakeholders such as management, investors, bondholders, and other interest groups.
Cost Accounting
This course focuses on how to provide management with the most relevant and reliable information to improve productivity and efficiency.
Practice of Consumers Psychology
This course on the process that consumers undergo when making purchasing decisions, beginning with identifying the need to actually purchasing a product or service to reinforce that decision, taking into account the psychological perspective. In addition, this course aims to develop personal selling techniques.
E-business
This course identifies customers, marketing, production, deliveries, services, infrastructure, and site strategy required in electronic commerce as a new businessopportunity, and further cultivates management skills necessary in today's information age.
Business English Conversation I & II
These courses develop students' 4 basic skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking English in practical business settings. Through this course, students will be better able to interact in international organizations that use English as the business language.
Business Chinese Conversation I & II
These courses build on the foundations of Elementary Chinese Conversations I & II, by emphasizing Chinese in practical business settings. Through this course, students should be able to conduct basic business transactions in Chinese.
Production and Operations Management
This advanced course teaches the models of practical production management and the latest study based on statistics and research operations.
Business Case Analysis
This course focuses on team learning for improving management techniques and knowledge, using specific case studies regarding finance & accounting, production & operations, human resource, marketing, information systems & technology, and strategy management.
Tax Accounting
This course will teach overall tax accounting principles and provide the basic foundation of tax accounting through various real case studies. This is an increasing important topic as all citizens and businesses are required to pay taxes, either directly or indirectly, to help support the growing number of social demands placed on society.
Accounting Information System
This course teaches practical knowledge regarding transactions and documents for basic company activities, such as profit, payment and frequency of resource management. This course will heavily emphasize the usage of accounting software and computer systems.
Promotion Practice
This course teaches the various marketing functions of promotion strategy, including the management of advertisements, public relations, sales promotions, and other promotional techniques, all in the efforts to help increase an organization's revenues.
Start-up and Management of Small Business
This course focuses on how to start-up and manage small business, beginning with the theories of business management to the practical process of starting-up businesses, emphasizing practical production management, modeling of enterprises, and the latest study method based on statistics and operational research.
International Business
This course aims to develop students' abilities in managing international businesses, based on the latest theories and methods available, to keep ahead in today's rapidly changing international business environment.
Practices of Business I & II
These courses aim to provide students with the necessary tools and knowledge to find employment, emphasizing business writing skills, including resumes and cover letters, and business interactions skills, including interviewing and presentation skills.
English Reading in Management
This course aims to enhance students' research abilities in English as they search for the latest news and business concepts over the internet to increase their knowledge of business management.

Many of our students have found positions in leading manufacturing and logistics firms, financial and insurance companies, ventures and start-ups, and other public service organizations. In all, they have worked in entry-level to management level capacities and functions, from Marketing to Human Resource, from Accounting to operations, and from information systems to strategy.
